What can Bowen help with?
It is a holistic therapy and can be used to treat the whole person not just the symptoms. Conditions that gain positive results include:
What can I expect from a treatment ?
Bowen is very relaxing and gentle and many people tend to fall asleep during the treatment – usually the person will feel a deep sense of relaxation. The therapist in essence acts as a ‘facilitator’ by making the ‘Bowen Moves” it acts to stimulate the body to heal itself.
Normally the therapist will apply a series of moves on soft tissue ligaments and tendons and then leave the room for several minutes. These "Bowen breaks" allow the body to register what has happened and initiate the process of healing by making the tiny readjustments to bring the body back in to balance and harmony.
Bowen is unique in that due to the gentleness it can be used on babies, children and the elderly.

How many treatments will I need?
Usually it only takes 3-4 weekly sessions to gain relief from long standing issues. After the initial course of treatments maintenance or ‘top-up’ treatments are recommended to keep the body in good working order and prevent re-injury occurring.
Whilst receiving Bowen Therapy it is recommended that other treatments or therapies such as massage, physiotherapy and reflexology, are avoided.
