Based in Elloughton to the west of Hull, Karen provides a range of holistic treatments to enhance your wellbeing.
Karen also runs Yoga Classes 4 times per week.
Karen’s initial experience is within the sport and science field. Karen qualified with a BA (Hons) degree in Human Movement Studies at Carnegie College at Leeds Metropolitan University. After graduating she worked as a Duty Manager at a local sports center before undertaking a PGCSE in Physical Education and Biology. She then worked as a lecturer at the East Riding of Yorkshire College before leaving to start a family.
It was at this point Karen was introduced to Holistic Therapies in seeking help for her own health issues and eventually, after gaining a qualification in Anatomy, Physiology and Body Massage, she progressed to teaching this course at the college.
Karen has been working within the Health and Holistic field since 1997 and continued to enhance her professional development in other courses such as Clinical Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Bowen Therapy. She worked for many years from her home clinic in Bridlington. Karen lived abroad for nearly 9 years, during which time she owned and ran a gym and an Alternative Therapy Clinic, which also offered other treatments such as Acupuncture, and Craneoscaral Therapy.
Since returning to the UK, Karen has continued to provide Holistic Therapies concentrating on Reflexology and Bowen Therapy.

“My aim as a Holistic Therapist is to treat every client as a unique and special individual and tailor their specific needs and requirements to the treatment they receive. I look to what is happening as a “whole” rather that just treating the symptoms – a “holistic” approach is vital taking into account mind, body and spirit.
I have great passion for natural healing and holistic therapies having experienced the many benefits personally. Each therapy I have qualified in has greatly helped myself overcome my own health problems, so I know that they work! The proof of the pudding so to speak!
It is evident that many of us are willing to “put up” with common health issues such as IBS, constipation, PMT, menopausal symptoms, back ache or migraines etc. but the truth is that you can find relief from these through the power of natural healing and holistic therapies. We can indeed improve the overall quality of our health and lives by regularly incorporating these wonderful therapies in to our way of life. I feel it is vital that you invest in your health, as it is one of the most important aspects of experiencing a good quality of life, pain free and symptom free. Much the same concept as taking your car for a regular service - if we fail to do so we would definitely experience problems with its general running. As they say: "prevention is better than the cure.”
Once you have experienced these wonderful and beneficial holistic therapies I believe you will continue to enrich your life and health”

"A quieting of the mind, a genuine re-connection to your body and radiant energy. Sounds like what you might expect after a weeklong retreat, right?
In fact this is how I always feel after just one hour long session with the incredible and highly skilled Karen. I feel so lucky to be able to go to Karen for Bowen, Reflex or one of the other amazing treatments she offers.
With a busy job in the NHS it's hard to find time for myself but I always know I'll leave feeling at my very best and with a new, positive perspective on whatever niggle I've been grappling with, both physically and mentally."
"Karen is a wonderful teacher. Yoga has helped me with my flexibility and mindfulness. I feel more able to cope with my long-term pain and stronger in my mind."
"This treatment is new to me. I find it relaxing and eases my joint pain with fewer side effects than osteopathy. I am more in control. Karen is brilliant. So glad I went to Yoga."
"Having being diagnosed with PTS, OCD and anxiety my CBT therapist recommended yoga to help me through my treatment.
I was recommended to Karen's classes from a friend of mine who was already attending. I began my first class in April and from my first lesson I haven't looked back!
From a physical aspect I have toned up and have more definition as well as being a lot more supple and flexible. From a mental perspective, Karen's yoga class has taught me to breathe properly especially when stressed, I am also better at being in the 'present' and enjoying the world around me using all my senses!
I look forward to my yoga class with Karen all week, she is very supportive and patient especially with new comers to the class but at the same time making it light hearted and fun to learn.
I can't recommend this class enough. "
"I joined Karen's Yoga class in January 2018 and the benefits are fantastic! I would like to go more frequently than once a week and maybe when I have more time I will do just that. However the benefits from going just once a week are amazing. The class is very informal and friendly, I had never been to a yoga class before but with Karen's expert teaching technique I have quickly learned the basics and fully feel the benefits. The class is very enjoyable and informative and Karen keeps it interesting, each week we learn new skills. I have become much more flexible, aches and pains that I use to have due to bad posture, the ageing process and shortening of tendons are all much improved and I am now more in tune with my body and mind, I am more relaxed and sleep so much better! I can fully recommend Karen to anyone who is thinking of taking up yoga."
"I've just had one of the most amazing treatments ever! 75 minutes of pure relaxation & wellbeing, the non surgical facelift and massage. At my age things are starting to look a little tired, I'd never have surgery so opted for this instead. Karen is very knowledgeable and professional and makes you feel very relaxed. I didn't want the session to end. My skin felt so nice afterwards that I didn't wear makeup for three days and that's not like me, the head, neck and shoulder massage was also amazing, I can't wait for my next visit. Great gift for people too with Valentines Day and Mother's Day coming up."
"I have suffered with the effects of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for many years. Due to this this I get a lot of muscle and joint pain. Some years ago now I met Karen and was introduced to the Bowen Technique. For me the results were amazing. After a few treatments my pain levels had reduced and my symptoms were lessened. I now have this treatment when I need it and I find a 'top up' treatment is great to maintain my health and wellbeing. The treatment is very relaxing and pleasant. It has also helped me with migraine, stress and arthritis. I find Karen to be very knowledgeable with a great deal of empathy and understanding. Her friendly and professional manner puts you at ease and gives you confidence in the treatment. I always say if in need give it a go. I have referred friends and family with positive results too. You have nothing to lose and lots to gain. I do not know fully how it works but for me it does!”
"I have been troubled by neck and shoulder pain as a result of a combination of wear and tear and whiplash injury. Over a period of 15 years I had conventional treatments including NHS physiotherapy and remedial massages. Both treatments helped but didn't clear the pain completely. It always returned with vengeance during times of stress. I was introduced to Karen by a relative. I was sceptical at first however after 3 or 4 Bowen sessions I have been pain free for the first time in years. Even during the stressful experience of being diagnosed with cancer my neck/shoulder pain hasn't returned. I now have occasional treatments when I can feel any stiffness beginning to niggle. I have recommended this treatment to family and friends. Give it a go it might work for you."
“I am housebound due to an extremely painful and debilitating back problem, which results in spasms in my back and down my leg. Bowen therapy has been made a huge difference reducing my spasms and pain, giving me much needed relief. Karen visits me regularly to give Bowen Treatment and I have always found her to be very knowledgeable, professional and understanding. I would highly recommend Karen as a therapist and the Bowen technique she administers."
“I'm taking Tamoxifen following surgery for breast cancer. Some of the many side effects have been hot flushes, disturbed sleep and chronic constipation. I was a bit of a doubting Thomas initially but after just one reflexology treatment the hot flushes decreased in intensity and frequency. My sleep pattern has improved enormously as a result. I now have regular reflexology sessions and continue to have a much-improved quality of life. Initially I was too embarrassed to mention the constipation however after getting to know Karen I felt able to discuss this personal problem. Conventional laxatives and stool softeners just don't work for me unless I take huge doses (not pleasant). The morning after the first reflexology treatment, which concentrated on the colon, area I had a strong urge to 'go'. This was repeated for a few days. I'm hopeful that reflexology may provide a long-term solution to this horrible condition.”
